PARALLEL WORLDS

Isaiah 59:2

“But your iniquities (sins) have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that he will not hear.”

I believe that the whole chapter of Isaiah 59 deals with exactly what is happening NOW to God’s People here on earth!  I also believe that what is happening NOW is running parallel to what happened to God’s People in the Old Testament.  Surprised?  We shouldn’t be!  Take God’s Word as a whole and really think on it as a completed life.

In the Old Testament God gave Israel (the Jews) His Promise, eternal life with Him as His Family. But in the Jew’s journey of rebellion and sin they turned their back on God, to the point of crucifying His Son, when He sent Him to deliver them from their sins.  Thus, God also turned to the Gentiles with His Promise of eternal life with Him.  And just like the Jews we took that “Good News” and ran with it also.  Parallel!

Now, let’s go back to chapter 59.  The title John Hagee put to Chapter 59 in his New King James Study Bible version is: Sins of Israel. In reality it could be titled: Sins of the Gentiles.  Read it for yourself with Gods guidance (Holy Spirit), see if it doesn’t parallel how the world is going today without God.

The first verse tells Israel/us that God is not an unforgiving God – He hears. The second verse has a very large and important word to start it off with: “BUT”.  Read what it says at the beginning of this letter again.  Sin! God cannot condone Sin.  Sin regardless of its degree, always has an effect ---- separation. Sin separates one from God. Truth and Fact. Even God’s own Son, Jesus, when He took the Sins of the world upon Himself on the Cross for us, had to endure God turning His back on Him.

Matthew 27:46

Vs 46   And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?”     that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”  God cannot condone Sin.

The rest of the chapter until the end is telling Israel/us how they were sinning.

Vs 3     Your lips have spoken lies, your tongue has muttered perversity

Vs 4     No one calls for justice or pleads for truth, they trust in empty words and speak lies

Vs 5     They hatch viper’s eggs and weave the spider’s web

Vs 6     Their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands

Vs7      Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths

Vs 8     The way of peace they have not known, and there is no justice in their ways.

Vs 9     Therefore justice is far from us, nor does righteousness overtake us.

Vs 10   We are as dead men in desolate places

Vs 11   We look for justice, but there’s none, for salvation, but it is far from us

Vs 12   And our sins testify against us for our transgressions are with us,

Vs 13   In transgressing and lying against the Lord, and departing from our God

Vs 14   Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands afar off,

Vs 15   so truth fails.

Pretty powerful accusations against Israel/and us!  Most of this country and the world seems to be going on exactly the same path as Israel did thousands of years ago.  Haven’t we learned anything in the years in between?

But take heart, Church! Read the end of Chapter 59 where it tells how even though God was displeased, He still has Mercy and Compassion on His Family.

God said that there was no man as intercessor so:

Vs 16   “Therefore His own arm (Jesus) brought salvation for Him.”

            Jesus is our intercessor to God. He made the path to God right again.  When God looks through Jesus’ Eyes – He sees His loving Family again.  When we get down and feel like we are losing the battle, look to our intercessor, Christ, and know that;

Vs 19   “When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord “WILL” lift up a standard against him.” (As we read the last verse remember: God does not change and NEVER will.)

Vs 21:“As for Me,” says the Lord, “this is My covenant with them: My spirit who is upon you (“in” us) and My Words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendant’s descendants,” says the Lord, “from this time and – forevermore!”

That’s us, Church, we are grafted in as descendants and sons and daughters of the most High! Just as Israel is to God – we are to God!   Take heart Church, look beyond the evil of the season and see the Glory of God for all generations!!  Just remember to ALWAYS:

                                                     Trust and Believe God
