LAWS III
The next section stirs my heart with Love for God. Number 3 in the list of six different senses of the laws in the scriptures is: The Law of Grace
“This category includes the doctrines and precepts of grace addressed to the Redeemed Child of God in this age. It must be carefully noted that the Christian is not under the law. Grace has imparted to him all the merit that he could ever need (John 1:16; Romans 5:1; Colossians 2:9-10). Being “in-lawed” to Christ (I Corinthians 9:20-21) does not mean that the Christian is without law. But it does mean, as one redeemed by Grace, he has the duty, or rather gracious privilege, of not doing that which is displeasing to God and fully discharging that which is well pleasing to Him on the basis of a manifestation of spontaneous gratitude for His salvation in Grace.”
O.K. Church, I have to put my “two cents” in here. Look closely at the words that are in these statements pertaining to the ‘Law of Grace’; gracious privilege; well pleasing to Him; spontaneous gratitude; redeemed child of God; ALL these phrases are obtained by “our” wills, the “free” undeniable blessing that God gave to ALL mankind—our free wills. God doesn’t want puppets-on-a-string, He wants our love and wills to match His Love and Will. And if we don’t “KNOW” our God; we will have no idea of Who we are “in” Him. No knowledge of Him means eternal death and separation from our Creator God forever. I for one am not “willing” to do that. I was told a while ago in a prophecy from God, “to walk freely in My (God’s) thoughts and to live and abide in My (God’s) Words in freedom without fear.” I believe those words are not only for me but EVERY REDEEMED CHILD OF GOD!
No, we are not under ‘the law’ because of Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross. But that “is” the Law of Grace paid for by God’s Son, Jesus Christ, they are not rules and regulations of do’s and don’ts; they are our hearts desire to love and want to please Someone—God! Reading God’s Word and listening to Him, and allowing His Spirit “in” us to overcome the flesh and temptations (Romans 8: 1-11) of everyday life is the main point of our lives. “If you don’t know and understand “Who” you are serving you won’t understand “Why” you are serving.” Serving God means serving Him and others, not serving God is “self-serving”, and that is death’s way out of the law.
Number 4 in our list of the laws is: God’s Will.
“The revealed will of God in any situation becomes a law to the Christians, although it embraces all God’s revealed pleasure for any people at any time. Thus the word law in the Book of Romans is sometimes used in referring to something other than the ‘Law of Moses (Romans 7: 15:25; Romans 8:4). The Holy Spirit “in” us is the One Who helps us walk “in” the Spirit and not in the flesh. (Romans 8:2)
Number 5 of our list is: Natural Law Written on the Heart.
“This aspect of law is closely connected with the revealed will of God, but it is to be distinguished in that it is what God requires of all of his creatures. ‘For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves. Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the meanwhile accusing or else excusing one another (Romans 2:14-15). What God requires of ALL of His creatures is what is written on our hearts/souls by our God. That is why we are to “listen” to our heats/souls, in other words---our spirit-man, because our spirits belong to God and know God’s Will.
Last but not least Church is: The Kingdom Rule of Life.
“This is the aspect of law which will be in force in the future millennium. (Matthew 5: 1-7; 29 gives a resume of it). It seems unthinkable to many theologians that there will be a reinstatement of law after the age of grace. But that such is the case is clearly taught in Ezekiel’s great prophecy of millennial conditions described in chapters 40-48, and also appears under the text of that which is legal by its aim to secure merit (Matthew 6: 14-15). But the legal administration of the millennium will be an exalted and spiritualized economy and will operate under ideal conditions with Satan bound, a large ministry and operation of the Holy Spirit and the personal Presence of Christ.
Alright Saints, there we have the Bible meaning of the laws. It all comes down to this:
“God’s Law supersedes man’s laws.” (Psalms 105:45; 119: 142).
Our heartfelt Love for God and His Word-Jesus Christ-leads us to our obedience and intimacy with Our God and being with Him for all eternity. What does the first and great commandment say? “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22: 37-38)
We are to listen and learn from God’s Word and Laws and they are given to us through God’s Spirit living and abiding “in” us—IF we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. How? By:
