God of Hope

Good morning precious Saints. I was given a verse in Romans chapter 15, and have been studying on it for several days now. “Things” seem to be distracting me in some ways or in some fashion. Today I’m pushing through that blockage of “self” and or the enemy. Sometimes I/we need to get past the “self world” and get back into the Spiritual Realm-God’s Realm.

In chapter 15 of Romans, Paul was writing about the ‘Practices of Christian Liberty.’ And in verse 16 he told us “why” he was writing:

Romans 15:16

“that I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering (Romans 11:13) of the Gentiles might be acceptable, “sanctified by the Holy Spirit”.

Paul’s calling by God was to minister to the Gentiles so that they (we) might glorify God for His Mercy. (Romans 15:9)

Romans 15:9 (in part as it was written) and 10-12

“...For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles, and sing to Your Name.” “And again he says: ‘Rejoice, Oh Gentiles (Children), with His People.” (Jews)

Verse 12:

“And again Isaiah says: ‘There shall be a root of Jesse; and He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles, (Isaiah 11:10) in Him the Gentiles shall “HOPE”. GLORY!

Romans 15:4

“For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that “we” “through” the patience/perseverance and comfort of the Scriptures might have HOPE!”

Church, once again there is that wonderful, blessed word that carries all of our tomorrows. My heart bubbles over with joy at the mention of it. I even looked it up in the dictionary:

Hope-noun

#1 A feeling that what one desires will happen. (Like living for eternity with my God!)

#5 Trust; reliance: “Happy is he whose hope is in the Lord his God.” (Psalms 146:5)

All this, precious Saints, takes us to the verse I was given in Romans chapter 15.

Romans 15:13

“Now may the God of “hope” fill you with all “joy” and “peace” “INBELIEVING, that you may abound “IN” HOPE “by the Power of the Holy Spirit.”

That “HOPE” is by the POWER of the Holy Spirit; the same Holy Spirit Who is living and abiding “IN” us NOW - to everyone who are Born Again Children of God.

Let’s look at the reference that was put with the first part of that verse:

Romans 12:12

“rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in Prayer!”

Saints, when we are steadfast in prayer there is “open” communication between our God and us through the Holy Spirit. And with constant communication there is increases in trust, reliance, hope, faith; even in believing “Whose” we are in Christ and that’s where the Power of the Holy Spirit comes in at, for us.

Ephesians 6:18 (in part)

“praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit.”

Praying (communication with God) is not just in Church or Bible study or religious get-togethers; it is talking to God ANYTIME, ANYWHERE about ANYTHING! It could be out loud, in whispers, in our minds, but mostly in our hearts. God is listening (in our time) 24/7. He is never “OFF DUTY”. Thank God! And God “WILL” always answer us; with a Yes or a No and sometimes we have to wait to see if it is a yes or no answer, that’s where patience abounds in God if “WE” allow it.

Believing in the ‘God of Hope’ is our connection to our Heavenly Father. Reading God’s Word gives us the insight for Right Living---so read often and communicate even more often.
