Jesus---God's Son

     Blessings in Christ, Church. Have you ever thought about when we were first told about Jesus being the Son of God? I didn’t until I reread Matthew chapter 3 verses 13-17; Mark 1: 9-11; Luke 3: 21-22; and finally John 1:29-34. All four of the Gospels, written by four different men with four different personalities. Think about it Church. I don’t believe they consulted with one another when penning these words from God, yet they were in unity in the Spirit with God; IN ONE ACCORD.

     John the Baptist, of course, did the actual baptizing because God’s Plan had to be fulfilled and even when John tried to prevent Jesus by saying, “I have need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?” (Matthew 3:14)

     Listen to what Jesus said to John:

Matthew 3:15

     “But Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.’ Then he allowed Him.”

     Now verse 16 was the actual event that came about at the Baptism of Jesus.

Matthew 3:16

     “Then Jesus, when He had been baptized, came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.” (Isaiah 11:2; 42:1) GLORY!

     Church, as I was writing this down my own mind went back to when I was baptized. I remember it vividly; as my pastor pulled me up from the water my heart/spirit became warm and started bubbling up through my mouth and I started speaking in the Heavenly Language. What Joy filled me! It felt like I was walking on air for the next hour or so! Words couldn’t describe what I was feeling and experiencing, but it was an outward sign of an inward renewal.

     Now, as Jesus was coming up from His Water Baptism; God Himself spoke to “ALL” of us who have accepted and given our hearts to Him with these often spoken Words of Remembrance:

Matthew 3: 17

     “And suddenly a ‘Voice’ came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

     What more “TRUTH” and “proof” do we need but our Father, Himself, telling us Who Jesus is---God’s SON.

     Our Trust and Belief in God’s Love for us is “through” His Son, Jesus Christ.

     Pastor Hagee tells us of the ‘natural truths’ of His relationship with His Father:

     “One must recognize that the title ‘Son of God’ does not speak of physical nature, for God is Spirit (John 4:24), and Christ was the Son of God before He assumed a human body in Bethlehem (John 3:16; Galatians 4:4) Passages which use terms implying physical origin must be taken in a figurative sense (Hebrews 1:5).”

     Jesus “IS” the Son of God! Just as we became God’s Children when we become “Born Again” into God’s Family.

     Saints, the “proof” we have of Jesus being the Son of God is “in” our hearts/spirits and our minds. Even though the devil is always “trying” to steal it away from our minds, he “CAN’T” steal it away from our hearts/spirits. It is sealed by the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 1:13)

How can we know this? By:

 

Trusting and Believing in God’s Love for us.
