OUR REASONABLE SERVICE

 

 

           I believe in these last days we are going to be sorely tried as Christians. With time so short our Enemy (Satan) knowing his demise is forthcoming, is tripling his efforts against Gods Children.

 

           When Paul was writing in Galatians about the Gospel he stated a very important fact about himself. Which I believe every Child of God should strive for:

Galatians 2:19-20

 “For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God.  (Paul was a Jew therefore was supposed to live by the Jewish laws.)

 “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."

 

            Paul was totally devoted to Christ and the Gospel, to the point of being crucified with and for Christ. All focus was on Christ. Now for me, I can understand that; but to really Know and Do that kind of commitment is hard to grasp. But to make it through these last days that Christ talked about in God's Word, I believe we are going to have to really follow Paul’s example.

 

            This is what Oswald Chambers wrote about that quote in Galatians: “I have been crucified with Christ.” 

“Are we willing to surrender our grasp on all that we posses, our desires, and everything else in our lives? Are we ready to be identified with the death of Jesus Christ? Make a determination to go on through the Crisis, surrendering all that you have and all that you are to Him.  And God will then equip you to do all that He requires of you.”

 

Another quote from Oswald is:

            “One thing God constantly requires of us is a Oneness with Jesus Christ. We should discipline our lives spiritually to maintain this intimate Oneness. All that is required for this is to live a life of absolute dependence on Jesus Christ. That’s total devotion to Him. Showing no concern for the uncertainties that lie ahead is the secret of walking with Jesus."

            Oswald’s statements are very blunt and to the point and true. And I believe he wanted us to realize how serious these last days are going to be. To tap into the power and authority we are to have in the last days we need to surrender our wills completely to God, and be in complete Oneness with Christ who paid the ultimate price for us.  Our focus would then be totally on Him for our every need. Now, many, many times I’ve let God down by trying to take things into my own hands and put “self” first before God. That doesn’t mean God stops loving us. God’s love means forgiveness and God knows our hearts even more than we do.

 

             In God’s Word it talks about man’s forgiveness. We are supposed to forgive 70X7 (Matthew 18:22), well, Gods Love is endless for His Children. That’s God’s Truth.  Now, I’m not saying Satan and his hordes aren’t going to try to take advantage of our weak moments and pounce on us. (That is a given for a Child of God – he wants to kill and destroy All of God’s Children) BUT: “we are not under condemnation in Christ.” (Romans 8:1)  And the quicker we realize our mistake the faster our repentance is for God’s forgiveness and the faster our Oneness with Christ can be repaired and restored.

 

             Keeping our focus and love and dependency on Christ is the only way to get through these trying times in the last days so we can live with him for eternity.Read God’s Word for yourself and Know the Power and Authority God’s Children have for these last days then don’t just acknowledge it, USE IT FOR CHRIST!!!    Remember:
