Earthly Man and Heavenly Man

Good morning, Church. Several papers ago I touched on the verse in                    I Corinthians 15:44. I’ve read beyond that verse and the Lord has opened up my eyes even further. Let me refresh our memories first:

I Corinthians 15:44

“It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.” (Just like there is a natural world and a spiritual world.)

The next five verses gives the explanation of that truth.

Verse 45:

“And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.”

Before I go on I need to give the reference back to Genesis where God tells us how He made man:

Genesis 2:7

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”

God made the natural body first then He breathed Life into it, God’s breath made our spirit-man but after the fall our spirits remained dormant---until Jesus. Let me quote on so we can understand---the Bible “is” God’s Word to us.

Finishing verse 45 of I Corinthians 15:

“The last Adam (Jesus) became a life-giving spirit.” (for us)

Verse 46 tells us the order of life:

“However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual.”

Continuing on in verse 47:

“The first man was of the earth, made of dust; (Genesis 2:7) the second Man is from heaven. (John 3:16)

I have to stop here because that Bible reference in John 3:16 “is” the whole “TRUTH” of LIFE. Every Christian knows that truth and fact but I’m going to refresh our natural minds to that God given FACT and TRUTH:

John 3:16

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that who ever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” NO words can explain that any further because it was directly from Jesus’ own mouth. Let’s go on, Church.

I Corinthians 15: 48-49

“As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, let us also bear the image of the heavenly Man.” (Jesus Christ)

Church, our spirits are going to live forever because God gave us our spirits, they are His Life in us. After our earthly/fleshly bodies are no longer living and breathing here on earth, our spiritual bodies will go only one of two places---heaven or hell. Our Born Again Spirits have that “Hope Knowledge” of Heaven with our Heavenly Father. God condemned sin in the flesh,(Romans 8:3) but the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me (us) free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:2)

Remember, God’s Word never lies! Let’s have more proof from God’s Word:

Romans 8:8-11

“So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is “in” you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.” (our right standing with God)

The next verse is our Born Again Promise from God.

Romans 8:11

“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead (Acts 2:24) dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit who dwells “in” you.”

Saints, our spirits should be soaring at that Heavenly Promise from our “Abba” Father. Our short stay here on earth is but a drop in the ocean compared to our eternity with our Father. So standing fast in our Lord and Savior “is” our calling and duty in these end times.  Can we do this?        YES WE CAN!
