WORSHIP AND INTERCESSION

“Worship and intercession go together, one is impossible without the other.” (Oswald Chamber).  Let’s start with intercession.

The root word for intercession is intercede which means to plead or beg in another’s behalf; mediates (verb). The actual word intercession is a noun and means: the act or fact of interceding. The dictionary also has a second meaning under intercession which says; a pleading or prayer to God for the saints in behalf of another.

God cannot accept or condone sin, a TRUTH and FACT.  “All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.”  Once Adam and Eve ate of the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden, everyone who came into the world afterward was born in sin.  TRUTH and FACT.  Therefore the Father couldn’t fellowship with His People like His Heart wanted to. One on one.  Jesus, His only Son, had to pay the Blood Price of a Sinless Man on the Cross to restore that relationship with His people.  God still cannot accept or condone sin, but His Son, Jesus, is now our Intercessor.  We pray to the Father “in” Jesus Name.

Romans 8:34

“Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.”

God “looks” at us through His Son to “see” the real spirit in us, His Children.  Now, we as children of God, also have another intercessor “in” us with our spirit to help us in our journey here on earth.  Before Jesus left this earth He told us of the Holy Spirit which was to be left with us to help us in “EVERY” step we take for the Glory of God.  The Holy Spirit is our intercessor, also.

Romans 8:26-27

“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered.

Now He (God) who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He (Holy Spirit) makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” (Reference: I Chronicles 28:9)

We ourselves are also intercessors. We pray for and with others for God’s People.  Just like Paul wrote about in Ephesians Chapter six:

Ephesians  6:18-20

“praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints – and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known    the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”

I believe every Child of God should take to heart Paul’s prayer for mankind.  I must go back to a quote from Oswald Chambers again to put a period on this scripture.

“We must get into such a “living” relationship with God that our relationship with others is maintained through the work of intercession, where God works His miracles.  Are our lives in the proper place so that we may participate in the intercession of our Lord and the Holy Spirit?”  Think about it Church then ACT on it to the Glory of God!

Now, about worship.  The dictionary gives the meaning of worship as: “great honor and respect; great love and admiration; adoration; to consider extremely precious; hold very dear.

God is all those things, but to me, all these words are correct to use in the natural world also.  Honor, respect, love, admire, consider precious, hold dear, could be attributed to a husband, wife, child, family, heroes, etc, but I don’t WORSHIP them!  God is the only One I worship.  Worship to me means spirit to Spirit communication.  The Bible says that God is a jealous God wanting all of our spiritual Love, just like He loves us. Let’s not disappoint Him, Church.

Worshiping God is when we raise ourselves up to where we can take hold of Him, having such intimate contact with Him that we know His mind about everyone and everything we talk to Him about.  Since God is not a living being here on earth but our Creator, that is worship –   Spirit to spirit.  We do use every one of those verbs to describe Him, but in our spirit, it is a total commitment of Love.  God’s Love not man’s love, two different loves, because words can’t describe or comprehend God’s Love in the natural. Okay Saints, now we need to put these words together in our hearts and actually “ACT” on them.

When we are so “God focused” in our worship of our Creator, nothing can come between us and Him.

Romans 8:35, 37-39

“Who shall separate us from the Love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or    famine, or peril, or sword (gun)?  Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, not things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the Love of  God which is “IN” Christ Jesus our Lord!”

When we made the “yes” decision to give ourselves back to God and became a Child of God, He gave us His Spirit in Love.  And as the scripture says, “Not any created thing can separate us from that Love.” Now, Church, get quiet and “heart” think about that, even Satan himself was created by God!  We do not have to fear anything but God Himself. And Church, that fear of God is “NOT” terror fear it is:

“Fear in conjunction with the Lord is respect, commitment, obedience and Love.” It is to put ourselves TOTALLY into His care regardless of the circumstances!  PERIOD!!!        When we have that type of commitment to God, worship and intercession come together in TRUTH!  A quote from Oswald Chambers:

“To have discernment concerning others in prayer we must be so closely identified with God that we have His view concerning the people for whom we pray”

Worship and intercession through Christ for the Saints is our reasonable service for our Father Who gave us His Son so we could be reunited with Him for all eternity.  We need to keep walking in that direction.  We start by:

                                     TRUSTING AND BELIEVING GOD
