God's Mission our Mission

Greetings in the Name of The Lord, Church. Today my scripture calendar gave me a scripture that I’ve read many times before but I believe the Lord wanted to give me an even greater understanding of that verse. I’d like to share it with you.

Matthew 25:21

“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’”

Yes, that’s the verse in Matthew where Jesus was giving us the ‘parable of the talents.’ But church I believe that was, again, the ‘end’ product of something the Lord was trying to show us. (Read for yourself this teaching-Matthew 25:14-30)

Let’s start with the first six words from that verse; “For the kingdom of heaven is”. These words that Jesus spoke were referenced to: Luke 19 where Jesus was telling Zacchaeus (the rich tax collector) to come down from the tree that he had climbed up into to see Jesus. Jesus told Zacchaeus He was going to stay with him at his house today. Now the crowd around Jesus grumbled, saying, “He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.” (which we all are) Zacchaeus felt he had to defend himself by telling Jesus how he managed the money that was given to him for taxes, which was above reproach. Listen to what Jesus told him:

Luke 19:9-10

“And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

God’s Mission!

The Bible then goes into the parable of the ten minas, which I had to look up in the Bible dictionary to find out what that word was. It is a measure of weight, like a talent was, only not the same in measure.

In the parable of the ten minas, I believe Jesus was teaching us what we are supposed to be doing as “our mission” here on earth. Let’s read:

Luke 19: 11-13

“Now as they heard these things, He spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem and because they “thought” the kingdom of God would appear immediately.” (Which we are also still in that state of mind—but--)

Verse 12

“Therefore He said: “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas ($64,000), and said to them, DO ‘Business till I come’.”

Now Church, instead of seeing what He gave His servants as money (minas) “see” it as servitude “for” Him. “See” it in the spiritual not the natural. What was given to us when Jesus left this earth for that ‘far country’? He gave us FREEDOM from SIN, Wisdom, Power and Authority to—What?

“Spread the Gospel to All the World!”

Think about it Saints! Jesus said to: “Do Business till I Come.”

That brothers and sisters “ISOUR MISSION! Are we doing “business” as we were told or are we consumed with the worldly, natural, self side of the “business”? What is in it for me? Our mission is a continuation of God’s Mission, Saints. To spread God’s Word and love our fellow man with “GOD’S LOVE”. We just have to realize that Satan isn’t going to give up easily and that some people are what “seems” to be unlovable and until we stop seeing in the natural and start “seeing” in the spiritual, it will keep us from “our” mission here for God.

Anger is NOT of the Lord, so people who steal, kill, and destroy are being lead and pushed by God’s and our enemy, Satan! God told us to be in continual prayer for His People—God made man so we ARE His—but some have surcome to the temptation of the evil one and have put action to that evil. What is our, God’s Children’s, mission if we can’t actually be somewhere to “speak” God’s Word into a situation? PRAY, PRAY, PRAY! Like maybe:

“Father, You and Only You know what is going on in our lives, minds and hearts and I know You don’t want anyone lost to You. Please have Mercy and Compassion on Your Creations—nevertheless YOUR WILL be done! In Jesus’ Name, the Name above ALL other Names, we Pray---AMEN!”      Then Church, we leave it in God’s Hands and TRUST Him!
