HEBREWS-CHRIST'S DEITY

Continuing on in Hebrews Paul is pointing out why Jesus is the Son of God and even superior to the angels, it is because of His Deity. Our Father God actually confirmed this in both the Old Testament and the New Testament.  Hebrews chapter one verses 4 through 14 tells us of Christ’s inheritance from His Father God.    I’ll quote several verses myself here, but you need to read for yourself how God’s Plan for us is working out.

Hebrews 1:5-6
“For to which of the angels did He (God) ever say: “You are My Son, today I have begotten You?”

Let’s pause here and look at the reference to this TRUTH in the Old Testament and New Testament.

In Psalms 1:7 and 8:
“I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, “You are My Son, today I have begotten You.  Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance and the ends of the earth for Your possessions.”  God executes His Plan with Jesus’ birth through Mary.  In Luke (New Testament) chapter 1 verses 34 and 35 tells us how God works His Plan out through the Birth of Jesus Christ.

Luke 1: 34 and 35
“Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be since I do not know a man?”  (Referring to the angel telling Mary she was going to conceive the Son of God (verses 30-33).  And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One (Jesus) Who is to be born will be called the Son of God.”

As if that wasn’t enough proof of Christ’s Deity, the Word goes on to say:

Hebrews 1:5 and 6
“And again: “I will be to Him a Father, and He (Jesus) shall be to Me a Son”?  “But when He (God) again brings the first born into the world, He says: “Let all the angels of God worship Him (Jesus).”  God created the angels and everything else. He did not “create” His Son, Jesus Christ, Who was with Him ALWAYS-----the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; the Holy Trinity!

Next, in verses 8 through 12 of Hebrews, God is actually talking to His Son and telling Jesus what He will have and do through this part of His Plan.  Let’s read several verses:

Hebrews 1: 8, 9 in part and 10-12.
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.”  “You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You…”  “You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands; they will perish, but You remain; and they will all grow old like a garment; like a cloak.  You will fold them up, and they will be changed.  But You are the same, and Your years will NOT fail.”

Even in Isaiah (and throughout the Old Testament) it tells of what Christ, the Messiah, has done:

Isaiah 51:6 (in part)
“But My salvation will be forever, and My righteousness will not be abolished (broken).”
Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior was, is and will be for us and with us for eternity; when we, each of us accepts His Love into our lives.  God’s Love is for forever.  And His Son, Jesus Christ, sacrificed his Life and Blood for that purpose in God’s Plan for His Children.  Human words can’t express that kind of Love.  Only God’s Spirit in us can connect heaven and earth!!!

In finishing Hebrews chapter one, Paul goes back and again explains the work of God’s angels:

Hebrews 1:14
“Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?”

YES, YES, AND YES!  And as God’s Children we have the power and authority through Christ to send the angels forth to minister where and when they are needed.  But are we listening to the Holy Spirit and using God’s authority for this in our lives?  It’s sad to say, but I believe most of us aren’t using what God has given us ‘to save the lost at any cost’!  Time is so very short Saints, and we need to realize God’s Timing is running out for this world.  Who will do God’s work if His Children won’t?  Think about it Church, we don’t have much time left to be a blessing to others, to ourselves, and for God’s Glory.
Let’s get back into a personal relationship with God.  He is our Father and we are His Family.  Act now through God’s WORD --- Jesus Christ--- and His Holy Spirit by:
