AM I A GOOD WITNESS?

As I was reading Oswald Chambers Daily Devotional Calendar I was touched by what he said about being a witness of God’s message:

“The purpose of Pentecost was to make the disciples the incarnation of what they preached so that they would literally become God’s message in the flesh: “you shall be witnesses to Me” (Acts 1:8). Before God’s message can liberate other people, His liberation must first be real in you (me)!”

Think about it Church; when we first gave our lives over to God through Christ’s Blood Sacrifice and became a born again Child of God; our hearts had to be broken by conviction of our sins and be baptized by the Holy Spirit with total trust and belief in God. And a “willingness” to “hear “God’s purpose for our lives and then acting on it means: living our lives as Christ did here on earth, spreading the Gospel of Christ, and saving the lost by giving them God’s Love through us.

Oswald also said:

“If we do not apply our beliefs about God to the issues of everyday life, the vision God has given us will never be fulfilled. The only way to be obedient to “the heavenly vision”, is to give our Utmost for His Highest – our best for His Glory. It is essential that we live and “walk in the Light” of God’s vision for us. (1 John 1:1).

I John 1:7 says:

“If we walk in the Light as He is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the Blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”

Our trust and belief and walk with God is our witness to a lost and dying world. We do our best for His Glory, then God will do the rest. We can’t live a “perfect” life here on earth, but we can do our best by following in Christ’s footsteps and becoming mature in our walk with Christ EACH and EVERY day of our lives. Think of the people we can touch with our “Christ” lifestyle! And when that “lifestyle” is a personal, real lifestyle, not a put on front or covering; it is a Blessing and witness for us and God!!!

Our willingness to put “self” in the background and God’s Love “in” us, through His Spirit, first is our “reasonable service” for God. How can we say “no” when Jesus gave His LIFE for us? I believe we need to get quiet and really consider these things.

I believe if we strive to be God conscious every day of our lives here on earth, it opens up the wonderful communication between our Lord and Us, His children. A faithful, personal friend, who, not only listens to our concerns and desires but leads and guides us through EACH and EVERY one of them for His Glory!

I also believe that allowing, through our wills, the Holy Spirit “in” us to help us understand God’s Word (by reading it ourselves) with patience and quiet reflection we will be able to “hear” and obey God’s Plan for our own lives.  Constant communication through God’s Spirit and our Intercessor, Jesus, is the Key to being a Good Witness in these last days!

I’m certainly willing (my will) to try!  How about you?  We really have to remember to:
