Love

Good morning, Church. Once again I’m searching and trying to understand my Lord’s Words for me. The word Love, God’s Love, came to me when I was talking to Him this morning. The word that I end all the papers with on this web site:

Trust and Believe in God’s Love for us

I don’t remember how, why or when I started to end all the papers with this statement but it was a real tangible urging to do it. I don’t believe I’ve ever really looked further into it before, I’ve skirted around the word all along but haven’t actually asked the Lord about it. God’s Love is REAL and a TRUTH for “ALL” of us, saved and unsaved.

I started with the Bible Dictionary—Unger’s Bible Dictionary to be exact. The Hebrew word for love is: ăhăbäh, the Greek word for Love is: `agapē. Agape is the word I’ve known about for as long as I’ve been a ‘Child of God’. Agapē “is” God’s Love and ‘God is Love’.

I John 4:8;16

“He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”

“And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in Him.”

Now, I next went to the regular dictionary to see what it said about the word love. One of the meanings of the word love here is:

“The kindly feeling or benevolence of God for His creatures.” I had to stop there and marvel at the simple, basic words put to God’s Love in the worldly dictionary.

Church, we are talking about God’s Love here and ‘kindly feelings’ don’t even scratch the surface of the TRUE meaning of agapē Love, I can see man’s love being associated with ‘kindly feelings’ but not my God the Creator of EVERYTHING!

Allow me to quote here from the Bible dictionary:

“Love is the highest characteristic of God, the one attribute in which all others harmoniously blend. The Love of God is more than kindness or benevolence. The latter may be exercised toward irrational creatures, but love is directed toward rational, personal beings!” That is us Church, His Born Again Believing family. The most intimate relationship we have with God “is” God’s Love. The agapē kind of Love. When our minds can comprehend what our hearts already know; our wills will match His Will for us and His Creation.

I’m quoting the Bible dictionary here again:

“The love of God underlies all that He has done and is doing, although many facts exist which we cannot reconcile with His love on account of our limited understanding. (God sees the whole picture we only see in part.) The Highest disclosure and most complete proof of divine love is in redemption.” (Romans 5:8; 8:32-39; I John 4:9,10) Read for yourself those references, Saints. They are TRUTHS from God to “ALL” of man-kind!

Now that we know what God’s Love is let’s ask another question: How do we have God’s agapē Love in us? We can go back to the Bible dictionary for this answer, also.

“The reality and power of this love are properly ‘achieved’ only under the influence of the Holy Spirit.”

Romans 5:5 (NKJ)

“Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our Hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”

The Holy Spirit is part of the (our) Trinity: God the Father; God the Son; God the Holy Spirit! He was given to us by Jesus Himself at His resurrection because He knew how hard it would be for us to live in all this evil surrounding us and not have a Comforter, guide, and the power to overcome evil influences inside and outside of us every day.

I’m quoting again here: I John 4:19

“We love Him because He first loved us.” ‘are words which rightly express the whole matter.’

“Christian love is made possible only by divine grace. It is one of the fruits of the Spirit.” (Galatians 5:22)

Now let’s quote right form God’s Word:

Galatians 5:25

“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”

Romans 8:4-5 (God condemned sin in the flesh)

“That the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.”

When we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior in our Born Again experience; we also accepted God’s Love into our bruised and battered hearts and minds. We became a new person through God’s Agapē Love “in” us.

Saints, as we are going through these last days in God’s Plan we need to realize even more how God’s Love through His Spirit “IN” us can deliver us from the power of the flesh.

Agapē Love is the Power of God’s Love “IN” us.

One Book at the top of my list of favorite Books and chapters in God’s Word is Romans chapter 8. Read it for yourself in your quiet time with God and see how He can Bless you with ‘Revelation Knowledge’ of how His Spirit works with, in, and for us.

Let us sum it all up with God’s Word to us:

Romans 8: 37-39

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For “I” am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us (me) from the Love (agapē) of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

No words can express That Love more faithfully than those Words from God, Church!

Now, accepting and believing those Words with our whole hearts IN FAITH is our part in God’s Plan.

We can do this, Church!          How?      By:

Trusting and Believing in God’s Love for us.
