SPIRITUAL WEALTH AND INHERITANCE II
In the Book of Ephesians Paul was also trying to encourage the saints in Ephesus. In chapter one verses 3-14 he tells of how we were; Chosen by the Father, Redeemed by the Son, and Sealed by the Spirit.
In verses 15-23 Paul is telling them “how” he prays for them, with a “Prayer for Revelation”. Which is a prayer that I take hold of for myself. It will make us “all” realize and step into the Power, Wealth and Inheritance of God’s Promises to His Children. Before you read it, ask the Holy Spirit “in” you to open up your/our hearts to the understanding of God’s Word through His Spirit.
In quoting these verses I would like to take liberty in quoting them from “The Holy Bible” in Modern English by Ferrar Fenton. He has translated directly from the original Hebrew, Chaldee, and Greek languages, and I believe it just gives a clearer view of these verses;
Ephesians 1:17-23 (Paul’s prayer)
“making mention of you in my prayers; so that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom, and comprehension of what is contained in a full knowledge of Him who enlightens the eyes of your hearts; to show you what is the hope of His calling; what is the glorious wealth of His inheritance for the holy; and what the exceeding greatness of His power in us believers, through His mighty energy, which energized in Christ, raising Him from the dead, and seating Him at His right in the heavens, above all government, authority, and power, and dominion; and every name named not only in this present age but also in that to come; and has subjected everything under His feet; and has given Him to be head over all the church, which is His body, the accomplishment of the whole in “Absolute Perfection.”
We, God’s Church, are Jesus' Body. And when Christ ascended to Heaven to be at our Father's Right Hand the same Power, Rule, and Authority that Christ had was given to us, His Body here on earth, to rule in His stead through His Spirit “IN” us. Can we grasp that “TRUTH” in our hearts as well as in our spirits? We are going to have to in these last days to carry out God’s Plan for the world and His Children. It’s not going to be easy if we don’t acknowledge and believe and trust in what God has “already” done for us.
If you have read Revelations you know the trials, and tribulations this world is going to have to go through. “BUT” we, His Children, are not of this world. We are not to be influenced or affected with the natural world because we are Spirit only living in a physical body.
Paul is encouraging the Church of Ephesians and us to continue in our wisdom and understanding in the “FULL” knowledge of God and His Son and Spirit. God’s Word is the only way we can know the HOPE of His calling for us and the world. When we actually grasp that “Full” (mature) knowledge of who we are “IN” Christ – we will be “CHRIST-LIKE” . Some of us think that can only happen when we have already gone home to our Father. But that is a lie from Satan. The enemy doesn’t want us to have that knowledge of our rightful power and authority here on earth. He can’t rule and deceive us when we KNOW who we are in Christ.
Reading God’s Word for ourselves and trusting and believing in Him is the only way to maturity for us. Paul did it, we can too.
