And our journey through it.
What God's Word Does
Good morning Saints. As I was fellow-shipping with the Lord this morning I was reading in Isaiah chapters 53-55 when the sub-title to chapter 55 caught my attention. It said, “The Messiah’s Invitation to the World.”
Now, Isaiah lived centuries before our Father God was to send His Son, Jesus Christ the Messiah, into the world in His Plan for our redemption. Yet He gave the man, Isaiah, Truths from His Plan; and the TRUTH above all other TRUTHS from that Plan was telling us about His Creation and about His Word.
John 1:1-2
“In the beginning was the Word, (I John 1:1 and Rev. 19:13) and the Word was with God, (John 17:15-Jesus talking) and the Word was God. (I John 5:20) He was in the beginning with God.”
Jesus “IS” God’s Word.
We are to put the Old Testament and the New Testament together for God’s Complete Plan.
Isaiah chapter 55 explains God’s Word and thoughts:
Isaiah 55: 8-11
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My Word be that goes forth from My Mouth; It shall not return to Me void/empty, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (God’s Plan for man and the world.)
Now let’s go back a bit to chapter 53 and 54 in Isaiah to find out some truths and promises that were given to us even back then.
Isaiah chapter 53 verses 4 through 6 tells us of ‘The Messiah’s Atonement’ for us. It tells us that “the chastisement for our peace was upon Him and by His stripes we “ARE” healed.” (which are promises quoted often in this day and age but unfortunately not acted on or believed in, in many situations.)
Another promise is in chapter 54 in verse 17 about how ‘No weapon formed against you/us shall prosper.’ ‘It is the heritage of the servants of the Lord.’
Another Truth and fact is in verse 5 of the same chapter:
Isaiah 54:5
“For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is His Name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth.” (Jesus is our Groom-we are His Bride.)
There are many more Promises and TRUTHS in God’s Word that are ours, Church, and we need to Trust and Believe in EVERY ONE of them for ourselves and for God’s Plan for us and the world.
What is the conclusion we are to have for all this?
Isaiah 55: 6-7
“Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. (Deuteronomy 6:5 and Matthew 22:37) Let the wicked (man of iniquity) forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.”
Church, that is what God’s Word WILL do—Pardon by Grace and Mercy.
TRUTH: God’s Word will accomplish His Plan for His Creations.
How will we know this? By:
Trusting and Believing in God’s Love for us.
