DISCERNMENT FROM GOD

Church, as I was reading in Mark chapter 3, I came across something that I had to read again and research to make it clearer for me to understand.  So with the Holy Spirit’s guidance I read it again and asked the Lord to open up my heart so I could read and write “in” His TRUTH.  (When I write I ask the Lord to help me with understanding and wisdom and to write in His TRUTH and WILL for His People and for God’s Glory.)

In Mark chapter 3 verses 20 and 21 (which Pastor Hagee put under the title “Opposition of His Friends”) I read:

“And the multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.  But when His own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, “He is out of His mind.” (They were talking about Jesus!?)

Let’s look at what is happening here in the scriptures.  Jesus had gone to his own country and was teaching in the synagogue and the people were following him and were amazed at His wisdom and the mighty works of His Hands.  In Mark chapter 6 verses 3-6 the situation was explained a bit further and why they said what they did about Jesus being out of His mind.

Mark 6: 3-6 (Under the heading: Jesus is Rejected at Nazareth)

“Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon?  And are not His sisters here with us?”  And they were offended at Him.  But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house.”  Now He could do no mighty works there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.  (Even Jesus marveled at their unbelief.)  Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching.”

The city of Jesus’ upbringing only knew Him as a lowly carpenter with no education or learning.  They let their physical eyes and knowledge of “this man” cloud their hearts and spirits from the discernment from God.  They could not “see” past His earthly existence.

Are we doing the same, Church?  Are we letting circumstances cloud our spirit and minds to the discernments from God?

Jesus doesn’t “look” on the outside of a person, He looks at the heart.  (Spirit to spirit)  He also doesn’t “look” at the outside circumstances.  He searches deeper for the hidden things.  I believe we would call that discernment, don’t you?  Discernment from God.  We are supposed to be like Jesus for our season here on earth, and discernment from God is a MAJOR part of God’s Plan for His Children.  In fact it is ESSENTIAL for these times!

The Bible says in the last days there is going to be such chaos that people are going to be running here and their looking  for a way through there troubles and following those who are not of God. (Matthew 24:24-complete-4-26 also)

Listening to God’s Voice and the Word through the Holy Spirit “in” us is the only TRUE answer we will have in the end hours here on earth.  That intimate relationship with our Lord and Savior is “ALL” we need to have to discern who and what we need to be following as God’s Plan unfolds.  We are going to have troubles, situations beyond our control, worry, stress, health issues, many things that “seem” impossible for “us” to handle---but that is the point---the word “us”.  We are NOT our own—we are bought and paid for by Christ’s Blood, we ARE God’s Children.  We have SOMEONE Who WILL handle “ALL” our lives “IF” “WE” allow Him to.  And the “ONLY WAY” this can be done is for Jesus to be the Lord “OF” our lives.  When that TRUTH is rooted and grounded “in” us (Ephesians 3:17)---NOTHING will keep us from His Nail Scared Hands.  We will have the confidence of WHO we are “IN” Him.    God gives us the PEACE in our hearts to know, “I AM HIS AND HIS ALONE.” When we have God’s Peace “in” us we will have the wisdom, knowledge and discernment for these last days and hours.

          Church, we do this by:

                                                 TRUSTING AND BELIEVING GOD
