OUR TWO BODIES

As I was taking with the Lord this morning I was given a word and as usual I just wrote it down.  Then I went to God’s Word to learn more about what I was given.

The word:

“In our spiritual walk it’s the depth of our relationship with God that brings our maturity in God.  God is Spirit; and so are we.  Our spirit is covered with a physical/natural body, the one God gave Adam in the creation of the world.”

I stopped writing here so I can put scripture to the word I got with the Word of God.  (Spirit to spirit has to be in Unity.)

In I Corinthians chapter 15 verse 44 it says: “There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.”  I then went to Genesis chapter 2 verse 7 to find the beginning: “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and (ref.#1) breathed (the breath of God thus the Spirit of God) into his (ref. #2) nostrils the breath of Life; and (ref. #3) man became a living being.”  (The reference verses give a fuller understanding and connection to other parts of the Bible-see end of paper for references)

Now, the Genesis chapter 2 verse 7 and the New Testament I Corinthians 15: 45 go together in unity in telling us “how” we became a living being and the I Corinthians verse 45 also gives us the “why” we are two bodies.  Let’s read it again:  “And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” (Genesis 2:7)  The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. (Romans 5:14)

When Adam sinned against God he gave our natural/earthly bodies control over to Satan, our enemy.  And the enemy has been controlling our natural bodies ever since.

God is trying to get us to “see” with our spiritual eyes how we can overcome the enemies control—by listening to God’s Voice through His Spirit (in us) and reading His written Word.

When we became born again Children of God, we died to self (flesh) and allowed our spiritual bodies to rule and reign again as before Adam’s fall.  (Because when Jesus died on the Cross, He took “ALL” our sins and made null and void Satan’s control over us.)  Our sin nature was supposed to have been put to death also, but our “selfish” wills are not letting that part go so easily.  We need to let God’s will overcome our selfish wills in these end times and days.

Romans 5:12

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned …“

I like the way Oswald Chambers put it:

“Sin is something I am born with and cannot touch----only God touches sin through redemption.  It is through the Cross of Christ that God redeemed the entire human race from the possibility of damnation through the heredity of sin.”

So Saints, we’ve gotten through the “how” and “why” parts----now we need to go on with the “what am “I” supposed to do now?” part.

We have to start “seeing” with our “spiritual eyes” and hearing with our “spiritual ears” to God’s Voice and Word, so we can focus on Christ and what He’s done for us after He said ‘IT IS FINISHED” on the Cross.  Jesus had completed His part in God’s Plan for eternity and His Children.  Having God’s Spirit (Holy Spirit) “IN” us and Jesus’ Cleansing Blood flowing through us is our Giant Leap into that Wonderful Future.

If we can stop being dragged down by the enemies lies and deceits and keep our hearts, eyes, ears and voice in step with Jesus’ walk here on earth; by keeping our spirit man “first” and foremost, we can be a worthy vessel and servant to our Father in Heaven, just as Jesus was.

So Children of God, of the two bodies our spiritual (new man) body has to be nurtured and made mature through the reading of God’s Word and listening and learning to His Spirit “IN” us.  The Holy Spirit WILL lead and guide us through EVERYTHING “IF” we just allow Him to.  But our selfish wills have to be put to death just as our sinful bodies were put to death when the “New Man” was born again in Christ.

Are we willing to put ourselves in God’s Hands—unconditionally---spirit, soul, mind, body and actions?  It will take this and more in these last days, Saints.  We can be ready and prepared by:

                                 TRUSTING AND BELIEVING GOD!!!
