A Better Covenant

     Greetings Brothers and Sisters. God’s Word is alive and well even as it was nearly 2,000 years ago when His Son, Jesus Christ, paid the Blood Price for our sins in the land of Israel.

     Think about it Church. Our Jewish Brothers and Sisters were bound by the old Covenant laws of animal sacrifice; before God’s Timing for the New Covenant came through Jesus Christ.

     In the Bible the New Testament always confirms the Old Testament through God’s TRUTH. Let me show you just one example.

     We will be in Hebrews chapter eight. Now, the author of the Book of Hebrews is unknown, but it’s TRUTHS are still unquestionable. Pastor Hagee says, “He is trying to base his appeal on the superiority of Christ over the Judaic system.” In short, there is more to be gained in Christ than to be lost in Judaism. It was written to the Hebrew People so they would know about the New Covenant.

     O. K., now let’s go to the Book itself. In Hebrews chapter 8 the author is trying to show God’s People the Better Covenant. When we read the whole chapter we will get God’s Word implanted in our hearts and minds to further strengthen us in our Faith and our learning of the Word.

     Again, the author was trying to tell God’s People of how “Jesus had obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.” (Hebrews 8:6)

Continuing on:

Hebrews 8:7-13

     “For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. Because finding fault with them, He says: “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah-” (v9) “not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the Lord.”

     “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their minds and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My People. None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. FOR I WILL BE MERCIFUL TO THEIR UNRIGHTEOUSNESS, AND THEIR SINS I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE.”

Verse 13:

     “In that He says, ‘A New Covenant,’ He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.”

     Instead of having to have their sins taken away once a year through an animal sacrifice; God has given “ALL” of us His Son’s Blood on the Cross as a “FOREVER” sacrifice. The ultimate sacrifice from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

     In Hebrews chapter 9:8-9 it says that: “the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of ALL was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing.” (Jesus said, “No one comes to the Father except through Me” John 14:6) The Tabernacle and gifts and sacrifices at that time, were all symbolic until the time of reformation.

     Christ came as High Priest of the good things with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. (Hebrews 10:1)

     Now Saints, listen for the proof:

Hebrews 9:14

     “how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot (blemish-sinless) to God, purge (cleanse) your (OUR) conscience from dead works (faith towards God) to serve the living God.”

(Always remembering what Jesus Himself said in Luke 21:33-

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but MY Words will by no means pass away.” A TRUTH from God-Always!)

     Jesus Christ “IS” the Better Covenant. And our celebration of Easter is our Proof and Promise of a Forever with our God.

     No matter what is happening in the world today, that Promise of TRUTH stands forever for us. Nothing or no one can keep God’s Family from Him. Jesus’ Blood Sealed that for us FOREVER—TRUTH from our Father. Glory! Remember, NOTHING can separate us from the Love of God.

     Now Church, standing fast in Christ is “OUR” part of this TRUTH.
