OUR ARMOR II

We are continuing on in Ephesians 6:10-18 on the Armor of God.  In the next verses in His Word to us, He is telling us “how” to do this “standing”.  Just like in the old days where men used physical armor to protect themselves from physical harm, Paul is telling us that God has spiritual armor to help us in the spiritual world.  After all Church, we do have a spiritual body within this physical body.  Knowing this, we will be able to stand even stronger for Christ in these latter days.  We need to put on the full, whole spiritual armor of God now!

Just as the natural armor covered “ALL” the physical body so does the spiritual armor cover “ALL” of the spiritual body.  As we read on in the Word of God let’s actually “see” how our spiritual armor is protecting us!

In verse 14 it tells us about our “Belt of TRUTH” which is tied around our waist keeping us in unity with God.  Satan and his hoards “CANNOT” stand against God’s TRUTH!  And putting that belt around our middle keeps our spirit with God’s Spirit.  Next comes the body armor (breastplate) of right living.  Saints, to the best of our ability in Christ, we are to live a righteous life for Christ.  We know right from wrong.  Our wills need to say “yes” to Christ and “no” to unrighteousness.

We can’t leave our feet uncovered so we shod our feet with the foot ware of the Good News Gospel of Peace.  The Gospel is our stabilizing stand in all we do for our Lord and Savior.  Now this next piece of armor is very important for our trusting and believing in our Loving God.  It is the Shield of Faith!  That shield of Faith NEEDS to be up and forever ready at ALL times, because that is our first line of defense against the enemies fiery attack on us.  Our belief and faith in our Creator will keep our hearts from stumbling with that shield protecting our hearts.  Have it up and at the ready ALWAYS!

Since our heads are at the top of our bodies we really have to have that covered first hence, our helmet of Salvation.  Saints,  NO SALVATION- NO ARMOR!  Our spiritual helmet covers our head so our minds can stay focused on;  Who is responsible for our Salvation, Jesus Christ!

Last, but not least and the MOST important of all our spiritual armor is the “SWORD OF THE SPIRIT” which is God’s Word, and the only defensive piece of our armor!  If we don’t have God’s Word “in” us the body armor is of no use!  God’s Word is the “ONLY” thing that will “keep” us standing strong in these last days.  That “Sword of the Spirit” is our Power and Authority from God to take back any foot holds that the enemy may have tried to use to separate us from our rightful place as Children of God.  We need to use that Sword constantly as God’s Army in this war between Right and Wrong.

Now Church, prayer is an important line of defense from the Word.  Prayer is talking to God, our spirit to Spirit communication.  Whether it’s a prayer for salvation, prayer for help in any given situation or circumstance, prayers for health in our physical, mental, or spiritual bodies, prayers for needs or requests for guidance and most of all prayers to give Him the Glory and Honor and Praise that He “ALWAYS” deserves in EVERYTHING!!!  Whether we think it’s for our best or not.  We don’t know the wonderful future He has in store for us unless we actually and unconditionally give it to Him first!  We need to NEVER give up on ourselves or Him and that takes reading His Word, praying (talking to Him) and allowing His Spirit “in” us to have complete control and to keep our spiritual armor on and up against anything the enemy can throw at us!

Saints, our focus is to be on the One Who made our future with Him for forever!!!   As always------How?    By:
