GOD'S SPIRIT IN US

Well Church, I’m back to one of my favorite books and chapters in God’s Word.  Yep, you’re right, Romans chapter 8.  The deep and wonderful meaning behind God’s Word/Voice is so very powerful in all 39 verses in Romans chapter 8.  I’ve written many times from Romans because I believe as Pastor John Hagee does; that the book of Romans was Paul’s greatest works.  To me it is almost as if God was speaking right to me and giving me instructions on how to live---life; a life of righteousness befitting the person “justified freely by (God’s) grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” (3:24)

How awesome is that Church!  From God’s Heart to our hearts!  I stand in awe every time I read God’s Word.  And I try to do that every morning before I start my day.  For me, it’s the only way to make it through each and every day of our “season” here on earth.  And ALWAYS giving the Thanks and Glory to the One Who holds my life in His Hands!!  Glory to God in everything!

Listening, learning and doing what God’s Voice says is essential in our steps to His Redeeming Life for us.  Let’s not disappoint Him!

Now, back to the Word.  John Hagee has put sub titles under the verses in chapter 8. I’m going to go ahead and list them for you because it summarizes our reading in Romans 8 and also helps us to know our power and authority as Children of God.  Listen:

Verses 1-11 tells us how “The Spirit Delivers from the Power of the Flesh.” ( very interesting reading)

Verses 12-17 tells us how “The Spirit Gives Sonship.”

Verses 18-30 tells us how “The Spirit Assures of Final Victory.” (living our lives through God)

God’s Spirit “in” us (after we give ourselves to Him) is God communicating with us. Jesus told His disciples this very thing when He was instructing them to go out into the world:

Matthew 10:20

“for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks “in” you.”  God’s Spirit and our spirit communicating. After all Saints, that is why Jesus paid His Blood Price for on the Cross so we could be reunited again with our Father without sin.

All this was brought back to mind when I read what Oswald Chambers had written on for Romans chapter 8 verse 16.  I’ll touch on this today, but please read for yourself the other verses, you won’t be disappointed in fact you will be uplifted even when the world today seems to be falling apart----it is still in God’s Plan!  We still have to look beyond the evil and fear and “see” our future with God.

Romans 8:16

“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are Children of God.”

Oswald Chambers comments:

“Once you abandon yourself to God in total surrender, He instantly witnesses to His own nature “in” you.  The Spirit of God witnesses to the redemption of our Lord, and to nothing else.  If we are trying to make Him witness to our reason, it is no wonder that we are in darkness and uncertainty.  Throw it all overboard,TRUST IN HIM, and He will give you the witness of the Spirit.”

Church, before Christ left this earth He told His disciples about Who was going to help them, and us, with and through our walk back to God.

John 15:26 ( Jesus speaking about the Promise of the Holy Spirit)

“But when the Helper (Comforter/Spirit) comes, Whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of TRUTH Who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.”

Jesus knew we all would need all the help we could get to come back to the Father.  That was part of the reason He came in the first place.  Jesus couldn’t “pay the price” for man unless He was man.

Now, as we read further down in chapter 8 to verse 26 and 27 it tells us how God’s Spirit “in” us works: ( I’d like to quote from the Expanded Bible here for a clearer view on God’s Plan.)

Romans 8:26-27

Also (or in the same way), the Spirit helps us with (or in) our weakness.  We do not know how to pray as we should (or what we ought to pray for).  But the Spirit himself speaks to God for us (intercedes) with deep feelings (groaning) that words cannot explain (or that are inexpressible; or that are unspoken, or too deep for words).  (Ephesians 6:18: “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit”.)

God can see what is in people’s hearts and ( the one who searches hearts) knows what is in the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit speaks to God ( intercedes; appeals) for his people (or his holy people; the saints) in the way God wants (or in harmony with God; according to God).” (I Chronicles 28:9 (in part): “for the Lord searches ALL hearts and understands ALL the intent of the thoughts.”)

Now Church, we really can’t leave verse 28 out of this writing because it finishes the total thought we need to have through the Spirit “IN” us:

“And we know that “ALL” things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

So whatever is happening in our lives today---GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL!  And NOTHING----NOTHING will separate His children from Him when our hearts and wills are stayed on Him.

Romans 8: 38-39

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the Love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Church, if nothing else, please keep these Words from the Word foremost in our hearts and minds.  God is Always and Forever Faithful to His Promises, and like I always try to say, “no ifs, ands, or buts, about it---it is God’s TRUTH!”   AMEN-AMEN AND AMEN!  Still remember Saints to:
