Prayer is a Conversation

Good morning, Saints. I was back in the Book of Hebrews this morning marveling at the words of encouragement that were given to the ‘Born Again Jews’ at that time. It was talking about the superiority of Christ over the prophets; how Christ was superior because of His Deity, His humanity, His position, even to becoming High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. (Hebrews 6:20)

Hebrews 7:4

“Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils.”

The ‘Born Again Jews knew who Jesus was-The Messiah- God’s Son. But because of Jewish tradition and the world around them they needed uplifting and encouraging just like all of us in this hostel world, they needed TRUTH and HOPE renewed in their lives. They needed to be reminded of WHO our Redeemer and Savior was and is and the Promises that God made to all of His Children when that veil was torn between Him and us at Christ’s death. That torn Blood Bought Veil was actually the last obstacle keeping us from knowing our TRUE Father and Creator. Because of Christs’ life, death, resurrection and Blood sacrifice we are now actually able to come to our Father God ourselves with Christ’s Blood covering over us. That’s direct communication with our Creator, Church! How awesome is that! We can talk to Him about anything and everything. In fact He wants us to be able to come to Him with everything no matter how big or small and Prayer “IS” our means of communication.

The Word says to pray to the Father in the Name of Jesus (John 15:16), because He is our Intercessor/Mediator (I Timothy 2:5), and knowing how to pray is God’s Spirit with our spirit (Romans 8:10,11,14).

I like the way Pastor Joseph Prince put it in his Book ‘The Prayer of Protection’.

“The prayer of protection (Psalms 91) is not an incantation or some magical chant that grants you protection. It is all about intimacy and relationship with the Lord. Prayer is a conversation. There is no relationship if there is no conversation. So talk to Him, commune with Him. He will lead and guide you to be at the right place at the right time with the right people.”

Our prayer life, which is every minute of every day, is communicating/talking with our God---Father, Son and Holy Spirit---Our Holy Trinity!

In fact Pastor Prince even gives us a “prayer” to help us along with our trusting and believing in God:

“Beloved Lord Jesus, You are the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. Thank You that You have the first and final word on anything that pertains to my life. I believe that You will lead and guide me to be at the right place at the right time with the right people. I thank You that right now, You are working behind the scenes to deliver me from every snare of the enemy. AMEN”

Now that Church, is a prayer of hope and confidence in our God. Can we accept, use, believe, and trust in Him like that:

I know we can!       How?

By Trusting and Believing in God’s Love for us
